Jesus gave you his authority to rule in life. That's why He said to his disciples "Occupy till I come", in other words you hold things down until I come back. Well if He told you to occupy until He comes then He empowered you to do it. That's why He said "If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed you will say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and it shall obey you" (Matthew 17:20). A lot of times when we approach a mountain we have the wrong view point. We look up at them when we should be looking down on them. The scripture says God raised Jesus up and sat him at his right hand with all things under his feet (Ephesians 1:20-22). And if all things are under his feet they are under your feet because God raised us up to set together with him (Ephesians 2:6).
But, sometimes we neglect our authority, we pray to God to do something and He's given you the authority to deal with it. Authority is given for a reason. Authority is given for you to rule over somethings. So you should be speaking to the mountains in your life in the name of Jesus. In Matthew 8:9 notice what the centurion said "For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this,and he doeth it." Notice he does not go to his supiors to get those under him to do something, he spoke and they obeyed. So when you come against a mountain in your life you should look from your seating in Christ, down on them and not up at them.
