Funny you would mention the Haight.

In April of 1967 I was in the Haight. It was lovely, full of promise.

In August I was there and I stood with the attitude of a pilgrim at the corner of Haight and Ashbury. A guy came up to me ans asked if I knew where he could get a gun. People had been stealing his drugs and he needed to put a stop to it.

you may not know it, but yes, Catholics do read the Bible -- especially the ones here on this board read ferociously, there are quite a few who can read in the original Greek and / or Aramaic, and many who pore over the word of God to learn more. So, if you have spent time studying the Word of God, do note that many Catholics have done this too -- and we may disagree with you on points.

No, Jesus never drank strong drink and He didn’t create 150 gallons of rotten juice to throw a drunken party. Jesus Christ never created anything tainted, and fermented juice is tainted. What He created was good and pure — not purtrid and corrupt! It’s down right blasphemous to suggest such a thing.

You seem to overlook the fact that it was IMPOSSIBLE to make fruit juice prior to the development of pasteurization in the late 19th century. Without pasteurization fruit juice ferments on its own and this process begins almost immediately (especially with grape juice).

As far as the argument that Jesus would have made juice rather than wine because of purity, that is laughable. Juice must be pasteurized AND refrigerated if it is not drank immediately, the people in the time of Christ didn't have the ability to do either of these things and wouldn't for another eighteen centuries. Why would our Lord make something that would begin to spoil within minutes? Wine on the other hand DOES NOT SPOIL; it will turn to vinegar and may taste horrible, but it doesn't spoil.

So, wine is actually the pure thing while artificially kept grape juice is tainted with chemicals!

Put down that faulty syllogism and step slowly away from it. Your exegesis will immediately become less defective.

In the NIV, Lucifer is the "morning star". Now in the NIV, the KJV word "Lucifer" is identified as the "morning star". See for yourself:

Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

By the way, the word translated from Hebrew into Greek as "Lucifer" means "morning star" or "day star." It's like complaining that someone is referred to as a bearer of Christ when everyone really knows his name is Christopher.
