Does this not mean that those who are not Catholic either because of birth into another faith, or because they have been misled as to the nature of Catholicism and joined another faith, can still achieve salvation through their love of God and their active desire to do his will?
In the same Gospel Jesus also says "He who is not with me is against me" - Jesus is showing a black-and-white world of good and evil.Non-Catholics CAN be saved, although we have no idea how this might be accomplished. There is no mechanism by which salvation, that is Jesus, can come to them - except by a special grace of Christ Himself.
