And people wonder why Christians are made fun of. Dear Lord. The stuff in Genesis is not meant to be taken literally. I'll never understand why science and religion cannot live peacefully along side each other.

Christians are made fun of because:

1Cr 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Because science refutes God, not all science, there are exceptions of course, but for the most part, science refutes scripture.

Seriously, why would anyone care about that?

Honestly, evolutionists and old-earthers have to believe a lot of abject, completely unsubstantiated nonsense to hold to what they believe. I mean, seriously, what kind of a dolt thinks that life developed from non-life, completely at odds with pretty much everything we know about the laws of physical and organic chemistry? What kind of an idiot would think that the earth is billions of years old - all on the basis of demonstrably erroneous dating methods which rely on completely unsubstantiated assumptions?

Good grief, if anyone needs made fun of, it's the evos and OECs.

“And people wonder why Christians are made fun of...”

“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” John 15:20

If a Christian believes the truth about God instead of the lie(Romans 1:25), he will be persecuted.

Who says it’s not to be taken literally? After all, the same One who says “I am God and besides me there is no other” is the same One who said He labored six days and rested.

If you don’t believe all of it, you don’t get to believe any of it, after all, it was all given by the same author.

Heck, even the different Christian denominations cannot live peacefully along side of each other.

They can; the problem is that Old Earth theories are not based in honest science, any more than Global Warming, and the two share the same highly biased form of ‘research’ that cherry-picks data and evidence, and disregards the majority of the data, in favor of a few bits that can be twisted to support their pre-conceived conclusion.

Ah this article skipped Genesis and went on over to Exodus when the newly freed slaves were getting educated in what would be required of them to have and maintain the blessings and protection of the LORD.

Genesis literally does not even begin to suggest how old this earth literally is. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. A declaration not a time piece. AND Genesis 1:2 literally says the earth age was destroyed even with a flood. All this long before the Superfund of Superfund clean ups began to make this earth inhabitable for the creation/formation of flesh beings.

It has been man and his traditions that claim Genesis gives a date of the age of this earth, NOT the literal words of Genesis...
