“my being Protestant. I am not. I am Christian. I do not get my perspective from some church organization. I get it from my personal reading of the bible augmented with other people’s interpretations.”

You’re a protestant. Sola Vivo, “Me Alone” is their core teaching.

“I can give you tons of scripture”

One article in one verse isn’t tons of scripture. Sorry to say. Jerome on the other hand has cited quite a ton of scripture refuting your statement. Then there’s the whole issue of authority. If Rob Roy is the pope of the church of Roy, how is it possible to contradict his infalliability?

Sorry. I would not know. Beyond Jesus, and Him killed as a perfect sacrifice for my sins, and raised from the dead three days later, and the free gift of His grace being offered to anyone who would believe on Him, I don’t know what their core teaching is. You have lumped me in with “them” and there may be some similarities, but at least I get my information from the bible, as opposed to another man’s interpretation of it.

It’s not that complicated. Really. We only complicate it when we try to find things there that are not - like when the early church insisted that earth is the center of the physical universe.

Yes, your author uses scripture, but he twists and butchers meaning just as the homosexual minister did when he tried to “prove” that the bible did not condemn homosexuality as a sin.

The scripture regarding Mary, he life, and Jesus’ words to and about her are rife. Several people have posted many of them here. The body of evidence is overwhelming. I have no choice but to move on in the spirit of Matthew 10:4.

It is futile to argue with what Glenn Beck defines as “idiots*”.

*in his book the word has a specific and unique meaning.

Actually, I also meant to invoke Titus 3:9

“But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.”

I have a favorite site that I like to link people to regarding Mid- vs Pre-tribulation rapture. Now, they can choose to read it, skim it, or ignore it, but it’s their choice. I’m not going to argue it with them beyond a few posts. Same thing here.
