I'm objecting to you, wnf, for spoiling the tone of a discussing by making it personal. If you object to something, you can object and we can all learn, but making this personal with your comments is the downfall of many posts and zero toleration is needed.

I don't think you should be banned, but should take time to cool off by staying away from the RF for sometime until one can relearn to converse civilly. We all need it -- I've had it and it's been good for me too.

As long as a poster does not continue to ignore my warnings, he is in no danger of being banned. Religion is a very sensitive topic and even the most sedate posters can have a bad day now and again.

Basically, open theological debate works when the posters stay on the issues and do not "make it personal." For instance, on the Religion Forum it is not tolerable to (1) read the other poster's mind, (2) attribute motives to him and (3) or make the thread "about" him.

Also, because the subject is so sensitive even mild curses will provoke harsher retorts and ad hominems and for that reason even references to potty language are not tolerable here.
