I dispute the One reason -- you enumerated two, the taste and the alcohol. The same for beer
Spirits on the other hand I think in my humble opinion are just for the alcohol.

Spirits on the other hand I think in my humble opinion are just for the alcohol. Perhaps you’re not drinking the right spirits. Whether one chooses wine, beer, or spirits, it’s all a matter of taste, aesthetically speaking.
