And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you. 13You shall be blameless before the LORD your God, 14for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. They don’t obey God’s Word nor take IT as The Final Authority. So in that rebellious state they call on the spirit world.

First, they are making an assumption that saint is in heaven. They still have to rely that the saint that the RCC/man said is truly a saint is correct. And we know what the RCC calls good.

Then the assumption a saint who is ‘supposedly’ in heaven can hear or even respond.

They are calling on the spirit world, so all their assumptions need to take another leap - that the spirit is not evil but really the ‘supposed’ good one they are praying to.

Lots of assumptions, along with their disobedience and they still do it anyway.

No wonder the RCC is getting darker, lots of demonic activity being welcomed in by praying to spirits. Rebellion is witchcraft that we are warned about. Disobedience has consequences.
