Very long testimony...but covers so much...well worth the invested read as you ride her emotional and spiritual roller-coaster.

If you've been thinking about leaving the Mormon church, Tracy was steeped in the church -- and active in it for 26 years! She was able to do that with the Lord's help...you can, too!

According to EquippingChristians.com: "She held many positions over the years, including "Young Married's" Activities Leader, Primary Teacher, Nursery Assistant, Assistant Ward Librarian, Cub Scout Den Leader, Ward Music Chairman, Visiting Teaching Supervisor, Relief Society Teacher, and Relief Society President, among others. Tracy was a frequent vocalist or speak at special youth and adult firesides. She was serving as Relief Society President when she left the LDS Church in November of 2000. She now writes and does public speaking, sharing her experience and knowledge of Mormonism in Christian churches throughout the country."

Tracy tells of her spiritual journey as well as her family's. Her appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show while still a member of the Lds church...Both a copy of a letter from Oprah to her -- as well as a very brief asterisked update at the bottom of her testimony...can be found at: Tracy Testimony

I am not a Mormon, but I read her entire testimony, every word, and cannot imagine the wonder of her search. What she went through, and suffered on that journey. I wanted to smack the self-serving Bishop. Can't help it, I did.

It was interesting, especially the part on the use of symbols and their satanic origins. And the creepiness of Joeseph Smith's willingness to corrupt writings and lay down falsehoods. And the willingness of the church to poll certain members before so called 'visions' are related at large. Just ew.

She is a tremendous soul. I am SO GLAD her long and hard search for truth resulted in great peace and joy.

It is just so great that she has a relationship with Jesus and our loving Father. WOW! When the scales drop, a whole new world leaps out!

Ah a super secondary testimony about a primary ex-Mormon testimony. Great job summarizing it!

ALL: Both I and Republic HIGHLY, I Mean HIGHLY recommend you set aside the time this weekend to read thru this entire testimony...click on the links, etc.!

Ohh its carved in stone:
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."...John 8:32 KJV

Also paraphrased as:
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall really pi** you off."

Thats the part 'they' rarely tell you about.

Now, THAT is a testimony !!!

ALL: Do you agree with a number of us that this is a "testimony of testimonies?"

Read it...experience this woman's emotions and spiritual turmoil...become sensitive to what long-time Mormons go through...

LDS -- at least those who are grassroots-level LDS -- need our understanding, empathy, etc.

They need enough encounters from us, open-armed acceptance by us at the face-to-face level so they'll be open to reconsider what their leaders have falsely poured down their throats!

Remember: Lds are NOT our enemies! Love them!...and that includes loving them with the truth!

My boxerbriefs will not get me to Heaven.

(Even if you use those purer-than-pure-white detergents some of those commercials tout?)

After all, haven't Mormon leaders like Spencer W. Kimball say we can all simply pull ourselves up by our spiritual bootstraps to become gods? [Wouldn't that include Lds male priests pulling themselves up by their spiritual jockstraps?]

We'll see if any of them can be saved by boxer/skivies/briefs' grace after all they can do to keep them pure white!!!

“*** NOTE: I do not equate Judaism with a cult. I also do not suggest that a Jew must leave Judaism to become a Christian! To the contrary, Jews who come to believe that Jesus is Messiah are called “Messianic Jews.” They do not give up their Jewishness.

Tragically, over the centuries, the Catholic Church and some Chistian groups insisted that Jews professing faith in Jesus as Messiah completely renounce their Jewish heritage.

Many Jews were forced to not only profess Christian faith, but give up all their traditions and even their very identity as Jews, much to the shame of Christians. Those who say God’s promises to Israel are no longer effacacious because the Church has replaced Israel are in essence calling God a liar. God’s promises to Israel will all be fulfilled, praise His holy name!”

Which church did she end up in? A Catholic bashing one? Because I have never heard of the Catholic church asking Jews to give up their identity. Since we recognize that Jesus and all the apostles were Jews.

After all, haven't Mormon leaders like Spencer W. Kimball say we can all simply pull ourselves up by our spiritual bootstraps to become gods?

Explanation:

You do NOT pull on your OWN bootstraps, but on the guy NEXT to you.

He then pulls on YOURS!

...in one of the D&C intros, it mentions how

Joseph Smith, an UNordained Mormon priest
"ordained" Oliver Cowdery...
and then Smith had Cowdery ordain Smith as a priest!

If Smith was unordained, how could an unordained Mormon priest "ordain" others...?
