I know bro, I know. We’re fighting an uphill battle though against literally centuries worth of doctrinal error. The sad part is that the ones who reject it the hardest are usually the ones who need it the most.

I have faith that the Spirit will work in those who need it and are open to hearing it, I just wish it wasn’t such a long, hard slog at times, especially considering these are our brothers and sisters.

You ‘observed’ him firsthand? Is he some kind of science experiment? If he supposedly reads the Bible, he sure does not display it in his posts here

So do you believe that you can lose your salvation?

WOW, Ladies and Gentlemen; boys and girls; dogs and cats! YET MORE evidence that the REPLACEMENTARIAN camp lacks eyes to see and ears to hear.

They have yet to show, demonstrate, list

From a single Scripture or any other remotely solid evidence . . .

1. THAT Man and man's nature has significantly changed in the last 2000 years from the description given in the Bible.

2. THAT satan has changed his nature or his goals and strategies in the last 2000 years.

&/OR

3. THAT GOD has changed HIS nature, ways, goals, strategies, methods in the last 2000 years.

4. YET -->I'M<-- THE ONE

5. WHO DEMONSTRATES a LACK of reading SCRIPTURE??!!!!

6. What tanker loads of outrageous hubris!

7. THEY are the ones insisting that HOLY SPIRIT packed up and when fishing WHEN, IN FACT,

8. SCRIPTURE IS ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that CHRIST HIMSELF SENT HOLY SPIRIT TO FUNCTION IN BELIEVERS as described at the end of Mark and in I Cor 12-14:

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Mark 16:15-19 (The Message) 14-16Still later, as the Eleven were eating supper, he appeared and took them to task most severely for their stubborn unbelief, refusing to believe those who had seen him raised up. Then he said, "Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God's good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved; whoever refuses to believe is damned.

17-18"These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well."

19-20Then the Master Jesus, after briefing them, was taken up to heaven, and he sat down beside God in the place of honor. And the disciples went everywhere preaching, the Master working right with them, validating the Message with indisputable EVIDENCE] --THE MESSAGE

That’s kind of an odd question, given the amount of information that I’ve already posted here, but I’ll answer anyway.

I do not believe that my salvation can be taken from me, as there is nothing that can overcome by force God’s Will in the matter. Proof of this is plentiful and I believe both sides agree here.

That being said, I do believe that I can lose my salvation by my actions, or inactions as it were, after I accept His gift. It’s not a matter of it being taken away or lost due to negligence or inability on Christ’s part, but a matter of me giving it up and rejecting it because of my own freewill in the matter. In essence, God will not force me to follow Him, neither will He force me to remain with Him. My proof for this view rests upon the following passages.

Isa 1:18 KJV - “[18] Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

This passage shows God’s appeal to men that they should reason with Him. There’s nothing here to suggest that He forces Himself on those who don’t wish Him in their lives.

Hbr 10:26-31 KJV - “[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

This passage from Hebrews clearly shows the results of those who sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the Truth. When taken in context, it’s clear that the writer of Hebrews was pointing out exactly what I’ve been stating. You can lose your salvation due to your own acts.

2Th 2:3 KJV - “[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

This passage clearly shows that some will fall away from their faith. If this isn’t possible, as you say, then what is being fell away from and why would it be important in the revealing of the man of sin?

1Jo 1:9 KJV - “[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1Jo 2:1 KJV - “[1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”

Mat 12:31-32 KJV - “[31] Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. [32] And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”

Luk 12:10 KJV - “[10] And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”

These passages clearly show that, while Christ is expecting us to sin, He also expects us to repent of that sin. These passages are also clearly speaking about Christians who sin, as only Christians can blaspheme the Holy Spirit since only we know Him.

Eze 3:20 KJV - “[20] Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

This is pretty straight forward. If a righteous man sins and dies in his sin, his righteousness is not remembered. God cannot lie, neither can He change. This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there can be no sin in God’s presense.

I feel that this is a proper understanding of the texts, can you provide proof, including chapter and verse, that disproves this? Denominational doctrine without supporting scriptures will not be accepted.

I don’t see it that way.

King David prayed for God to forgive him for his secret sins; his unknown sins.

I think we are called to walk in an ongoingly

CONFESSED-UP; REPENTED-UP; PRAYED-UP; WHOLE ARMORED OF GOD UP; FORGIVING UP

STATE—CERTAINLY IN OUR ATTITUDES AND IN OUR HEARTS . . . and as consciously aware, with our conscious verbal confession, repentances, assertions, declarations etc.

GOD LOOKS ON THE HEART.

However, I think those who

satan whispers to . . .

AHhh, that one little thing doesn’t matter, forget about it. No need to mention THAT to God. No need to worry about THAT. It was only a white lie. It was only half an hour of net porn. It was only an evening of justified rage . . . .

And creeping denail sets in . . .

Then creeping denial grows into creeping rebellion.

Before long, folks are inching then leaping away from God while telling themselves everything is cool, or cool enough.

I don’t think God sees it that way at some point.

You can sin and forget about it?

I’m not being meanspirited here, but I know when I sin, there’s no way I can forget about it. The Holy Spirit won’t let me forget, especially if I do nothing about it. He, literally, has taken my sleep and my peace of mind away until I’ve dealt with it.

How are you able to sin and forget about it when He’s there reminding you of it? I’m being serious and straight forward in my confusion here.

A hit to my reputation? I’m happy just to have a reputation, hits or not. ;)

Knowing some of the other topics you and I have discussed in private before, saying that we believe similarly is somewhat of an understatement. I’m starting to wonder if one of us was cloned from the other.

GOD’S BEST TO YOU AND THOSE YOU HOLD DEAR.

I keep as straight accounts as possible.

I don’t doubt there are times I’ve sinned where I either didn’t know for sure, or did and while didn’t deal with it immediately, it has slipped my mind.

If I did something 20 years ago that I forgot about, is that going to send me to hell?

How is that not works based?

Honestly, I’m not sure in that case. All I can do is point you to the verses and remind you that God is just as Just as He is Loving and Holy. My own suggestion would be to ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there are any hidden sins in your life, then repent of them. We’re promised that Christ is faithful and just to forgive us if we ask Him, but we have to ask.

I really would encourage you to speak to the Holy Spirit and ask for His guidance in this. That’s what the Father sent Him here to do, so I would think that He would be honored that you asked Him to do it.

If, after humbling yourself before God and seeking the Spirit’s council in the matter, you are still able to say with a clear conscience that you know of no hidden sin, then there’s nothing to worry about.

Or, hmm ... if the light turns yellow, the sun is in your eyes, some crazy driver nearly plows in to you, your cellphone rings, and there’s a news bulletin on the radio simultaneously ... and you don’t repent for thinking the crazy driver is stupid; there’s too much going on at the moment, and since you are late for an important appointment, it slips your mind.

Today I found myself going over the speed limit a couple times. And I may have rolled through a stop sign. Not to mention not staying exactly in my lane.

If I don’t repent of breaking the laws of the God ordained and established authority over me, does that mean I’ll go to hell?

Do I have to repent every time I go over the speed limit by 1 mph? It is illegal you know.
