Did you notice the date of the writing of the article? 1913. So, as early as 1913 (and I have similar references back to 1894) Bible students and writers were referring to the land underneath Israel as “Palestine” without any knowledge whatsoever of what would occur after 1947, 48 or today. They didn’t even know about the then coming Balfour Declaration.

So, to them, “Palestine” was a mere geographic reference.

I understand this, but the designation, palestine, was a deliberate attempt on the part of britain to erase almost any/every reference to Israel. It was used by the earliest archaeologists in the area as a shorthand word, and the british, who are and were notoriously anti-Jewish, insidiously set about replacing all references to Israel with this designation in Bibles and literature or anything pertainng to Eretz Yisrael. They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
I repeat. It was deliberate.
I guess I am becoming kind of emotional about this beause it has been used to try and erase my people as well. The fact remains that palestine is a lie. The encyclopedia brittanica even has an article that states that Jesus was born in palestine. I am positive that would surprise Him no end.
