My now dead friends promised to contact me (and I promised to contact them) should they croak first. No one has contacted me yet. Something’s fishy about this heaven thing. Is it a totalitarian dictatorship, from which there is no escape and no contact with other realities?

Houdini and his wife had a pact where he would try and contact her. He gave her a code that only he and his wife would know. She tried to contact him for years and finally gave up. However, contact of the living by the dead is different, by definition, from reported near death experiences. What is it like after death even theologians differ. The cliche no one knows is really accurate in this case.

You’ve got to fill out a form first, then you wait in a line.

Check out the story of Lazarus & the Rich Man if you wonder about that, here is the ending, where Abraham tells the Rich Man why he won’t send Lazarus back to Earth to testify to his family:

“27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

Also, in a way, heaven is totalitarian of course. Who can contest with an almighty God? Who would want to escape paradise either?

We have to be careful not to give ourselves too much credit being on this side. Your friends priorities may have changed a bit since passing over, now knowing things that we dont.

Its a mystery, Im tellin’ ya!

You want them to come in from the endless beach party to make a long distance call to you?

Face it pal, they're having a better time than they would have talking to you. You've been ditched.

Catch up to them later and get even.
