http://www.halfsigma.com/2010/11/exit-poll.html Whites without a college degree voted 62% Republican, compared to 57% of whites with a college degree. The Republican Party is clearly the favored party of blue collar whites. This is a significant increase from 2008 when only 54% of whites without a college degree voted Republican, and the gap between college and non-college graduate whites grew from 2% to 5%. It's counterintuitive that Republicans are both the party of the rich as well as the party of blue collar whites.
