>Muslims themselves are very open to Christianity.<

.
With all due respect, I wish that you could give me proof of that.

Having lived in Muslim countries for 25 years, I have never seen evidence that Muslims are even interested in Christianity.

Do you see evidence of it in our free society where any Muslim can pick up a Bible and study it, unhindered by their co-religionists?

Yes and no. At the university I work at, it is not uncommon to have Muslims approach campus ministry workers wanting to learn more about Christianity. However, in most cases, it seems to be more intellectual curiosity than a sincere spiritual desire to learn more about Jesus Christ. In almost every case, these seekers are careful not to let their Muslim friends know.

There is almost no public pressure on Muslims to convert to Christianity. Indeed, there is public hostility to any such efforts. Up in Michigan, when Christian missionaries sought to hand copies of the Gospel of St. John at a street fair in a Muslim neighborhood, the police arrested them. George Bush set the tone when he insisted--against all evidence--that Islam is a "peaceful" religion.

Well, peaceful it may be when not riled, so are many guys in the pen. The public policy in almost every Muslim state is very hostile toward nonmuslim faiths. Toleration --which is strongly enforced in this country--is not ,found in Muslim states.

Our elites whom show such concern for Muslims, are indifferent to slights and even sympatheric toward shown to Christian groups even in the United States. In Iraq, Christians have suffered tremendously from their association with the Western occupiers. Which is why the Vatican opposed the invasion in the first place. Bush never lifted a finger to protect Arab Christians.

Ann Coulter jokingly said that the only way to establish democracy in Iraq was to christianize the population. Ironically, this is true. And make it as hard on Muslims to practice their faith as it is now for Christians to practice theirs.

Want to convert a population? Intolerance generally works. All but a remnant will cave if you keep the public pressure on for lone enough.

Yes. A dear friend of mine and a lovely young lady moved here from Pakistan. Upon obtaining their citizenships, they converted to Christianity and she is very much a mainstay of her church's choir having been blessed with a set of lovely pipes.

She's just so freakin' hot, too.
