Personally, I found Martin Sheen’s statement profound and moving. Judge not, or you will be judged by that same standard.

For me — I once was lost and now I am found. Could my life be dissected and found wanting? Most definitely .... Why not celebrate Martin’s beautiful statement of faith? Warts and all, that’s how we humans come.

It may be me being too picky, but it seems like celebrities are starting to parlay Last Rites for press. Zha Zha had her last rights, recovered and now want to have a baby with a surrogate (so the gossip papers say). Sheen had his last rites and now celebrates his recovery. It feels dirty- like they are using such a serious sacriment as a trump card for their celebrity image. “I was so sick, I even had my Last Rites. But now, look at me! miracle!”

Sheen is your typical marxist catholic. Pro life but liberal on everything else - unionism, enviromentalism, anti nukes, illegal immigration, social justice, anti war, etc.

Is the typical Catholic a Marxist?

One has to feel sorry for the old man being described as “Charlie Sheen’s father.”

Perversion wouldn't exist if there weren't something pure to pervert. You go contemplate that for as long as it takes.

I won't hold my breath.

How things change. He used to be "Martin Sheen," and Charlie used to be "son of the actor Martin Sheen."

I guess that's the way of all things, Grasshopper.

But it still leaves the question: whose son is Afro Sheen?

The prototypical American Catholic is sympathetic. That's how Obama got elected.

So glad you have such deep insights to the origins of sin. Stick to the Bible, you will do better.

Can't follow this. You're arguing the point? Or you're saying it's not sophisticated enough for you? Are you saying it's "unscriptural?" Can you explain what is meant by it, and how it applies?

or are you just being contrary because that's your only "argument" against Church that gave birth to the runaway child known as "Protestantism?"

Yeah, hey, there's a corollary: there wouldn't be "Protestantism"' if there wasn't something original to protest.

all rhetorical questions. I learned a long time ago that it's fruitless to attempt to reason with enemies of the Church.

You can be politicallly liberal on the areas you listed (with the exception of abortion) and still be a faithful Catholic.

Idon’t know if he is actually a Marxist which is incompatible with Catholicism.
