I have a kid stuck in the hospital for a week and needed the laugh...cheers! magritte

(Anything we can pray about?...I hear God has a reputation going back about 2,000 years of raisin' frail and even the worst-off bodies on a week like this)

interesting. Give an example of rabid anti-mormon as opposed to exposing mormonISM. It is also interesting that you are not bothered by the rabid anti-Christian teachings and writings of lds for over 150 years and the anti-Christian postings of some lds (and defenders of lds) on FR.

I'm still trying to figure out how your "disdain" is supposed to be seen as contributing to the discussion since the atheists don't receive the same pass.

In my time on these threads I have seen numerous moderator posts regarding the atheist "no dog in this hunt" factor as they don't claim to be affiliated to any religion...if you are going to discuss YOUR religion on these threads in how it relates to either Christianity or mormonism, please explain how "disdain" is dogma to Noahides.

this kind of claptrap pops up on my main screen because I like to read the Israel related topics and there’s no clown filter for the anti-Mormon threads...I like to try to keep conservatives out of them when I can...magritte

IMO, your posts do more to bump these threads than they do to "keep conservatives away".

Apparently magritte is the final word on who is and who is not a conservative.

Several atheists - who have no dog in the Mormon v non-Mormon disputes - were instructed to leave such "open" Religion Forum threads because they brought nothing but ad hominems, i.e. they were trouble-making.

magritte, if you have nothing to say but ad hominems either, then the same instruction applies to you.

Discuss the message, not the messenger.

"Open" RF threads are the only venue for "anti"s to post their condemnations and ridicule of other beliefs. They are in a town square format.

Flame wars result on "open" RF threads when posters who are offended by condemnations and ridicule of their beliefs keep coming back for more. They do it to themselves, like moths to a flame.

Posters who are offended by "open" RF debate should IGNORE them alogether and instead post to threads labeled "caucus" "ecumenical" "prayer" or "devotional."

And posters who do not want to see religious debate at all should NOT use the "everything" option on the browse. Instead, they should browse by "News/Activism" and be careful to change it each time they log back in because the browse will reset to "everything."

...and if one thinks like a viper, faulting, backstabber what does that make one?

Ah, what "winsome" spirits you and MissesBush have been this thread...first Missesbush labeling fellow conservative posters as "tools of Satan" and now you Resty, referencing posters as "vipers."

I suggest both of you sign up to conduct a session at a Mormon Training Center entitled "How to 'Win Over' those you encounter who disagree with our teachings in just a few easy steps!"

Be sure you both start workin' on that 'hiss' as you relive all those Mormon temple ceremonies from the 80s and before where Mormons would accuse in highly bigoted ways of Christian ministers of being paid workers of Satan...here...I'll quote the Tanners on that one:

One very important change in the [Mormon] temple ceremony is the removal of a portion of the ceremony in which the Devil hired a Christian minister to preach the "orthodox religion" to the people. This portion of the ceremony made it clear that in the eyes of the Mormon leaders the orthodox Christian religion was the Devil's religion. In the 1984 version of the temple ritual, the Devil tells the minister that if "you will preach your orthodox religion to these people, and convert them, I will pay you well." This, of course, led the Mormon people to believe that Christian ministers were really working for the Devil. In Mormonism, Magic and Masonry, p. 66, we wrote: "...the temple ritual tries to link Christians and ministers of other churches to the Devil's work. We feel that this is one of the most objectionable things about the ceremony, and we do not feel that a Christian would want to give any support to this type of thing." Many other Christians protested against this part of the ceremony, and a great deal of pressure has been put on the Mormon leaders to change it.In the new version all of the material making fun of both Protestants and Catholics has been completely eliminated.

ALL: See how bigoted/intolerant and offensive Mormondom has been? -- and any attempt to critique Mormonism in response to Mormonism's ongoing vicious attacks on Christians results in even more viciousness by Mormon defenders like Resty & MissesBush.

Resty, you forgot the rest of the story...

(”The modest stipend the GA receives they also include in their tithe paying.”)

You didn’t mention the paid board positions the LDS leaders receive (some, paid with checks from
PORN, like Mormon Marriott...)

best,

Thanks for the guidance, RM. These threads lately have generally been full of posts "making it about other posters".

Once upon a time over the life of each president they have walked the walk of each calling they received and in their life time and paid more than 10% tithing in their secular earning years and still are paying more than 10% in their tithing in their twilight years.

Who is the CPA here?

You, Resty, or your steno?

i don’t get why it was the church’s responsibility to call... if i thought my son were being abused, i would call the police... what is wrong with people that they don’t know how to do anything for themselves?.. again, people need to grow up and quit expecting to be hand held...

HAve y'all noticed how those dogless folks here manage to tell ANTIs to correct and tone down their behaviour are strangely silent about saying the same towards MORMONs?
