My oldest brother, Jim, is 79 years old today. As I sent a birthday message to his computer, I got an e-mail from his wife saying he had had a problem breathing this morning when he got up and was taken to the ER.
He was found to have fluid in is lungs and is in the hospital with pneumonia.
Everybody's brothers are special, but I could not begin to tell you of the aura of goodness of my brother Jim and his actual acts of charity and kindness.
Jim has made contacts throughout Orange County, CA and collects from dozen's of places all kinds of foods, from buffet dinner type to all kinds of fruits, vegetables and breadstuffs.
He sorts through this mass of leftovers and discards for what is edible ... and takes it to all of the places of the ingident of that entire area.
His house used to be filled with stuff given to him by the people who had died and to whom he had distributed the Holy Eucharist ... from appliances, to toys, to furniture of all kinds which, until the border with Mexico became so dangerous, he used to make a weekly trip to a struggling convent and to the orphanages of Tijuana's most poor.
He is by definition, a good good man and not old enough to go home to Our Lord!
Please pray for his recovery -- he has had heart trouble for years and I am sick with worry about the greatest "comforter and hugger" I know.
Please know that I pray for all of you and your intentions every week ... but may not respond if I find myself having to go to Orange County.
Please pray for my big brother and I will continue my prayers for this FR family.

I have 3 brothers (no sisters) so I know about brother love. I am praying for your Jim. May God touch his lungs and heal him completely. May this bring you closer to share how much you love him. Thank you for sharing because I heard your love through your post. Prayers for peace tonight...
