**Did Mary Have Other Children?**

Simple answer — No. If anyone would have touched her, the Ark of the New Covenant, they would have died just like the people who touched the Ark of the Old Covenant died.

Also — look up in your Bible:

How many times is the word “brethren” used?

A lot!

They lived in family courts, usually with relatives around them. These relatives were called “brethren” or cousins. It’s the language of that day.

Scripture that states this?

You would have us believe that Mary went through her entire life with NO physical contact with another human being the whole time?

Pity the soul who maybe bumped into her on the street.

You are claiming that not one person in the whole of Marys life ever ... EVER ... had ANY physical contact with her? Not a hug, not a kiss, not a back rub, no one ever washed her feet, no one handed her something ... nothing ... because if you are going to claim that Mary was some kind of retro-human Ark ... that is the implication. When the Ark was touched BY MISTAKE ... the person died.

Joseph and Mary were married. To think they never held hands is delusional.

Not so much contact as intercourse.

The Tabernacle of the First Ark was so filled with God's presence and grace that even Moses could not enter it

Ex 40:34-35. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode therein, and the glory of the the Lord filled the tabernacle.
Neither would Joseph enter into this Ark of the New covenant -- he was a good, holy man who knew the stories of Uzzah from 2 Samuel.

Joseph probably didn't understand how this dedicated virgin could have a child except by well, naughty means, but then an angel appears to him and Joseph listens. Then strange things happen and Joseph is convinced (or perhaps I malign him and he believed right from the start).

Joseph now KNOWS that God has filled Mary's womb and that the child is from God.

Tradition holds that Joseph was an elderly widower who took charge of this young mother (hence accounting for the fact that after Jesus's escapade in the temple at 12, Joseph "disappears"

Anyway, Joseph would know

Ezekiel 44: " 2Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut."

The Eastern gate by which God entered the world.

It's not surprising that the newest generation of reformatters reformat the beliefs of even the first gen of reformatters

John Calvin (Sermon on Matthew)

"There have been certain folk who have wished to suggest from this passage [Matt 1:25] that the Virgin Mary had other children than the Son of God, and that Joseph had then dwelt with her later; but what folly this is! For the gospel writer did not wish to record what happened afterwards; he simply wished to make clear Joseph's obedience and to show also that Joseph had been well and truly assured that it was God who had sent His angel to Mary. He had therefore never dwelt with her nor had he shared her company... And besides this Our Lord Jesus Christ is called the first born. This is not because there was a second or a third, but because the gospel writer is paying regard to precedence. Scripture speaks thus of naming the first-born whether or not there was any question of the second."
Now that's one thing I can agree with Calvin about....

The ark was a type of Christ..trust me Joseph did not die when he made love to his wife..

It might be wise to look and see EXACTLY why God struck Uzzah and Ahio dead is not because Mary should not be touched..

Go back to numbers , there you will find that God made conditions on moving HIS dwelling place .

God ordered that the Ark was to be transported in a certain manner.. Kohathites, were the only priests who were allowed to move the tabernacle, however they were not allowed to see or touch holy items

God had ordered that poles went to be on either side of the Ark, it was to be carried by Kohathites on their shoulders.

Uzzah and Ahio violated the command of God by putting it on a cart pulled by oxen

They were blessed that God did not strike them dead the moment they broke His command.. but God showed Mercy and allowed them to take it by cart .When they reached out and grabbed the Ark that was their second violation of Gods command..

Ya know Catholics seem to want a goddess so much that they take types of Christ and force Mary into them..

Can I call them, or what?

I was thinking 2 Samuel 6 myself. Catholics refer to Mary as the New Ark of the Covenant, after all. Maybe that explains why Catholics believe that Mary remained a "perpetual virgin" her whole life.
-- Alex Murphy, April 15, 2011

....when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him down there because of his error, and he died there beside the ark of God.
