Metropolitan Hilarion announces effort to protect Christians
The World Russian People's Council will regularly publish information about violence and abuse against the community. The Orthodox Church is deeply concerned over christianophobia in the Middle East.
MOSCOW, Russia (AsiaNews) - Concerned by a widespread "Christianophobia", the Russian Orthodox Church has decided to publish regular information on episodes of violence that affect Christians in the world.
Interfax news agency reports that the World Russian People's Council is a public forum that brings together several religious and political leaders in Russia and is chaired by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
"The Russian Orthodox Church will launch a program to protect the Christians who have recently become the most targeted religious," says Roman Silantyev, director of the Center. The idea is to monitor the crimes and atrocities committed against Christians, such as murders, threats, rapes, massacres and executions.
The greatest concern focuses on the Middle East, as explained by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for External Church Relations.
"The escalation of Christianophobia in some Middle Eastern countries can lead to serious consequences for the Orthodox faith, putting at risk the lives of the faithful of the ancient local church, deprived of their rights," he denounced in an interview with Interfax-Religion after having met with the rector of the Egyptian Islamic Al-Azhar University.

Well, I’ve noticed their resistance to the abomination of homosexuality and the “gay” “pride” parade not being allowed ....finally, some people with some common sense....how can anyone celebrate such hideous, demeaning acts???? Religion aside....it is against natural law which is the foundation of our legal system and WE allow it HERE to corrupt our children and teach them a non logical worldview and conduct reeducation camps at our universities and now in government employment agencies.....this is a violation of freedom of conscience and is nothing but thought control police. Who would have thought it in the USA>!

There is a re awakening in Russia. One can see it in the Prisons where ministries are starting to change lives and in their over crowded orphanages where religious groups are bring light into those awful establishments. A new Russia will come out of this—it is coming as we speak. Glory to Christ!
"Scriptures" or "The Book" for Mooslims means the Koran as updated by the Sacrad Hadiths. It's not how to interpret the Koran, it's outright replacements for parts of the Koran as well as additions to the Koran. While the Koran does teach tolerance, things in the Hadiths did away with that particular teaching from the Profit. IOW, good Moozlims are not to be tolerant of the faith of others, but many of those who study Izslam and don't understand that the Koran isn't equivalent to the Christian Bible since the Hadiths has to be studied to fully understand how to apply the Koran, think Moozlims are taught to be tolerant.
In the case of this article, though, I'm positive the authors know that the Hadiths revoke the instruction to be tolerant but are being very careful in the way they word things. They want to recognize that the Koran teaches tolerance even though they know that's not the way those who are Moozlim look at it. It allows them to focus on what Moozlims do while pretending to think they're doing those things for reasons other than their Satanic religion. It seems to me that their putting that bit in this type of document implies they're intending to be rather activist in pursuing the sorts of things they say they'll focus on. Maybe even to the point of physically intervening to protect Christians in some cases.

Christianity is the most perfect reasoned Theology out there in the history of the world...(Dinesh D’Souza).The ideas of Christianity are what freed the slaves, gave women and motherhood dignity and worth, and gave dignity to the old and infirm (and unborn). It is glorification of the Truth and the Light and an embrace of knowledge and the creative spirit.
Prior to Christianity, the pagans of Rome practiced rampant homosexuality (and pederasty) and slave culture was established. America is trying to shed her Christian past and return to “anything goes” society which will always self-destruct. Only a society that operates under Moral Absolutes will flourish....it has been proven over and over. Moral relativism produces arbitrary law which always leads to the most powerful in politics dictating what others can or cannot think and do. We have to have a standard (our Constitution does, actually but it is being ignored by marxists/progressives/atheists) UNDER GOD.....where law is NOT arbitrary and unequal. Just Law is based on Natural Law Theory and Universal Truths. That is what Holmes and the socialists have destroyed....our legal system and now we have arbitrary laws based on “feelings” .
Russia will rise out of the ashes if they truly embrace this culture of life and wisdom and creativity.

individually, they are very moral, very good people.
they are not just anti-gay, they also generally know Islam is truly evil. While we are busy using tax dollars to HELP build mosques in Boston and Tennessee, and the largest mosque in Europe is in Rome, the Russians are forbidden them in Moscow. (Moscow has like a million muslims, and 2 mosques...)
and as per your #10, the Russian become more free and and free-market, as we go the opposite way... a society based on Christian moral law, succeeds.

People are incredible and there will always be good people. It is just hard to face the mob mentality....reading about Bonhoeffer....it takes great courage and humility to face the forces of evil government. And government, as the Founders stated is a “necessary evil” and it has to be restrained which ours isn’t anymore.

What I recounted was the way it was explained to me by someone who is Muslim and has been Muslim all their life. What would account for the differences in understanding? Are there various interpretations among different factions or something within Islam or would this person have a reason to tell me a modified version of things?
