Neither Catholic nor Sharia law {hit-piece supporting gay marriage against Christianity}-Ecumenical

Thank you, Bishop DiMarzio, for inadvertently reminding the apathetic public why separating religion from government is so critically important. In trying to become more politically relevant, I hope the latest pronouncement of the Catholic Church will make that church even less relevant. As far as I can tell, the Catholic Church is on the wrong side of all issues pertaining to sex.

Let’s see if I have this right. The Church wants heterosexual couples to remain celibate until marriage and then to have as many children as nature (excuse me, “God”) provides, whether they want or can afford them. ..

It’s bad for straight couples to cohabitate, but good if they commit to a monogamous marriage; it’s bad for gay couples to cohabitate, and even worse if they commit to a monogamous marriage....Don’t anyone even think of the sin of masturbation, which is safe sex for pleasure only.

...we will be forced to live under some form of Christian law.

As long as we keep high the wall of separation between religion and government, neither Catholic bishops nor any other religious leaders will have a right to dictate public policy for those outside their faith tradition.

Yes, Monogamy and self control have been the downfall of mankind. The fact is that the rules espoused by the Catholic Church, when applied, make the World a better place. They also will in the end, lead to a better more satisfied life.Promiscuity, homosexual activity and all forms of sexual deviancy are a root cause of unhappiness and strife the World and in many peoples lives.

That explains why so many atheists, hedonists and active homosexuals lead despicable , unhappy and short lives. Many also succumb to nasty diseases and suicide.

The problem of “shopping/sleeping around for a spouse” does not make any sense. If you have 3+ of these live-in relationships, then the entire point of being married for life is lost.

The Church says that sex is far too important to diddle with. The Church believes that sex is a meaningful act that expresses a love that is meant to be fruitful. The way the sex act, as it is naturally designed, bears fruit is with the birth of children. It is impossible to bear fruit if one inserts his penis into another man’s anus. Can’t happen.

Since the sex act is meant to convey the deepest meaning of a love meant to bear fruit, its place is within marriage where the love that unites two people in mind, soul AND body is lived out in its most profound and committed way.

Since love that is expressed through the sex act is meant to bear fruit (since, again, that is how it is designed) contraception is contrary to the ends of marriage and its expression of love. Since homosexual acts are by their very nature contraceptive, they also violate the very purposes of the sex act which is to express the unity of two persons in love and designed to bear fruit.

But in a culture where pleasure is all that matters, nothing else seems to carry much meaning. I ask people I see for counseling (especially the men) how many sex partners have you had? The most recent person - a 34 year old man - told me “about 50 or so.” I asked, “Did you love them all?” He looked at me as if to say “What does love have to do with it?”

If you think we live in a culture of love, I would suggest that you get your head out of your proverbial butt.

Definitely one for the time-capsule. And if Silverman’s lucky, he’ll never have to face the consequences of his conviction.

yes, that’s better. I’m sure this nut is as much an embarassment to true, religious Jews

I want to keep my country secular and certainly wouldn’t want to live under any form of religious law.

Too freaking bad. You could exterminate every last Christian from the face of this country, eradicate every last trace of Christian legislation, and STILL you would be living under the law that God wrote on the human heart.

These idiots would unmake the very Universe to keep their consciences from screaming at them all day.

Indeed. Only one classification beats it—a lapsed Catholic.
