If it was unknown, why was she searching for deliverance? Sukhra's torment robbed her entire family of peace.
Then why didn't she seek medical aid for physical torment? That's what you and I would do.

Why did you add 'physical'? Where does it say that?
And, besides if she did, what could they find with tests/exrays - nothing. They would tell her it's all in her head.
So if she went the medical route, she'd be drugged up right now - their answer for everything.
