If the church you are in has to “debate” this issue...get out now.

HOW did we get to the point where this is debatable for a Church?

I've been making this point with a certain Freeper regarding the United Methodist Church's flirting with the issue. He just never gets the point that once the issue is on the table for debate, the "Church" is already a rotting corpse.

“HOW did we get to the point where this is debatable for a Church?”

When we got to the point of not following God's Word...even in the church. The plan all along was to get us to doubt God's Word...Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “DID GOD REALLY SAY, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The plan has continued on since then, that is why God has to continue to remind us to follow Him...John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” and 2 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast know the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

As a culture we have accepted the idea that nothing is absolute and as a result we place ourselves over God and try to tell Him what he meant in His Word...this is never a good idea. If God said it then He meant it...I for one will always side with God's Word...even if the churches will not.
