***The confusion over whether St. Christopher is still a saint arose when Pope Paul VI revised the Liturgical Calendar,***

I am reminded of a newspaper story from forty years ago.

A news reporter was on a combat helicopter flight in South Vietnam when he noticed a soldier with his hand embracing a St Christopher medal.

The reporter leaned over and said..”The Pope says St Christopher doesn’t count anymore”.

The soldier replied...”The Pope ain’t over here getting his *** shot off!”
