As a amateur web designer it is hard to understand why the Vatican persists in using that textured background that makes reading the site so difficult.

I immediately thought of newadvent.org...:) I was surprised to see how often wiki used it...only for rare and obscure people, places and things...nontheless it was a little uplifting.
