Big Deal? That’s an ignorant statement. What if I told you that your beliefs as a Catholic are a “big deal”? I understand plenty about Christianity since I used to be a Christian. How can you be a Catholic and believe in Judaism? The two are totally incompatible.I’m not expecting you to change your views as a Catholic. Trust me,there is a lot I’d like to say but I won’t. “Big Deal”. You know where you can go.

That’s all well and good but sometimes things cannot be fixed.

I totally understand your point.I most likely misdirected my statement;I was responding to those who said that divorce is a sin.

You don’t know anything about Catholicism if you say that. Catholics and Jewish people have a whole lot in common.

How so? We don't worship anyone other than G-d,we don't have images/statues in our synagogues,we do not believe that divorce is a sin, etc. I do know some things about Catholicism, such as the wine and the wafer are supposed to literally become Christ's blood and flesh, divorce is a sin (as previously stated),Mary is venerated and prayed to (Which can be viewed as idolatry),the Catholic catechism is different from the Christian Bible, etc. If I am wrong about anything you can correct me. It's just that as a Jew I don't understand all the statues and why you pray to Mary, who has been dead for nearly 2,000 years.
PS: The Catholic Church has treated we Jews like s**t for thousands of years. It is a historical fact. It was not until the 1960’s that anti-semitism was removed from the liturgy.

How so is the catechism “different “ from the Bible?

Peter the first pope was Jewish. Jesus was Jewish. The first Christians were all Jewish.

Are you starting to get the picture?

That still does not make Judaism and Catholicism similar.

Jesus celebrated all the holidays, the Passover Seders, taught at the temple.

Now our Protestant churches, COMPLETELY IGNORE Judaism and act as though the religions are two entirely separate belief systems, WHICH THEY ARE NOT!

Jesus came to put the spirit back in the law, he changed not one letter of the law.

I explain to my kids that Christianity is Judaism plus; Christianity is really a kind of Judaism

Has there been persecution of the Jewish adherents by Christians? Unfortunately, yes, pathetically yes.

(On the other hand, I was babysitting a little child in a Jewish home and he told me his grandfather hated Christians.) But as far as I can tell, the Jewish people have never banded together to kill and humiliate Christians.

Jesus changed every single letter of the Law! Christianity is not similar to Judaism by any means.Christianity has perverted the sacred Jewish Scriptures to make it look like Jesus is the messiah. The Jewish messiah will be fully human and will not come back a second time.

Here is an extensive list of how Jesus changed the Law:
1)He did not fulfill the commandment to marry and procreate.

2)He violated the Jewish Law pertaining to the burial of the dead.

3)He actually violated the commandments related to Passover.

4)He violated the commands concerning the treatment of Gentiles

5)He violated the commandments concerning the treatment of his fellow Jews!

6)He added to/changed the Torah,which is prohibited.

7)He changed the rules concerning divorce and adultery. We Jews do not believe that getting divorced and then re-married is comitting adultery, nor is looking at someone with desire. It is the act that is a sin.

8)He violated the Sabbath.

Here are a few examples of what the Torah says vs.what Jesus says. If you go to Messiah truth you will find the entire list.

Family life:
Genesis 1:28 vs. Jesus’ silence on marriage and child-bearing. Violation of Law

Treatment of parents:
Exodus 19:3,20:12,21:17 vs. Mt.10:34-37,12:46-50,Luke 2:42-50,14:26,John 2:3-4. Violation of Law

Burying thee dead:
Deut 21:23 vs. Matt.8:22,Luke 9:59-60.
Violation of Law.

These are a few examples;there are too many more to list which would make reading them quite time-consuming.As I said,go to Messiah Truth.
