Forgiveness is given on a God sized scale. He is not stingy with it. It's not partial forgiveness based on how much we abase ourselves to prove to Him how much we hate ourselves.

Romans 8:1-2 1There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Free is free. If we still have to pay for anything, it's not been forgiven and we are not free. That then makes Jesus, Paul, a whole bunch of other disciples liars, and Scripture itself liars.
