Crystal Cathedral's Rev. Robert Schuller Requests Meals for Wife, Congregation Outraged

An email sent out to the Crystal Cathedral's congregation requested meals for founder Robert Schuller's wife, Arvella, who is sick with pneumonia. Crystal Cathderal Ministries, a glass-walled Orange County church known for its "Hour of Power" broadcasts, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Oct. 18. The Schullers, church administrators, have come under fire after court documents revealed they may have taken nearly $10 million from the church's endowment funds.

The email sent by Pastor Jim Kok asked parishioners not to send cards, because church staff and the Schullers want to keep her illness "under the radar."

"However, they would appreciate meals over the next three to four weeks," the email states, reported The Orange County Register. "They are to be sent to the church in order to be transported to Arvella. The limo drivers could pick up the dinners or meet in the Tower Lobby around 4:30 p.m."

Many parishioners are outraged over the email considering the cathedral's bankruptcy and the Schuller's involvement.

"These are millionaires who have limos and chauffeurs," an outraged member, Bob Canfied, 73, told The Orange County Register. "Why in God's name would they want the congregants to deliver meals? It's ludicrous."

I would include Joel Osteen in your ‘puke’ list.

Okay, “providing”. Not “delivering”. I stand corrected. :-)

Rick Warren, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Robert Schuller, Ted Haggard, Jimmy Swaggert... All these televangelists make me want to vomit.

You forgot get-gifts-from-God-after-you-send-in-$700 Dr. Mike Murdock, Benny Hinn and that Paula White who he's been schmoozing with.

My late husband looked just like Robert Schuller. I hope the pastor hasn’t begun to lose it.

Think what you will about Rick Warren, but he isn’t a televangelist.

He refuses to have his services broadcast on TV for that very reason; he didn’t want to be lumped into that category. It took years before he would open his internet broadcasts to anyone but church members in the local area.

This is a perf3xtly horrid booki! My Spirit would not permit me to read past the first chapter. Warren’s is a “feel good” religion. Rick Warren is a religious Dr. Spock!

If Mrs. Schuller is ill and the congregation has not tried to help her with meals, or other chores? What the heck is wrong with that “outraged” congregation?

“I think they’ve all done about as much damage to Christianity as the Left could ever do.....

Almost makes you wonder if they weren’t intentional plants.”

That’s what I believe. They were (or became) plants intended to discredit Christianity. When the MSM colludes with individuals to make them ultra rich and famous, they know that eventually the individuals will be discredited. They are undoubtedly shills because they are not true Christians.

I do not watch Robert Schuller, I watch Adriane Rogers and Charles Stanley. What has he done to earn membership in that dismal club?

Only record in the Bible of Jesus getting angry was with the money changers turning His Father’s house of prayer into a den of thieves. Many souls will be led astray by lukewarm preaching for filthy lucre’s sake.

Better watch your words. FR bleeding deacons are waiting like vultures to swoop down on you impure apostates. Never mind that the self-appointed "christian guardians of the faith" around here always leave a stink behind them.

Phone? A land line only. I have M.D. so I need a magnifying glass to read anything on my computer, which is exhausting in itself. But though I am a very good typist, I have a new key board I can’t seem to get used to and it take me so much time to edit what I write, and I still miss things. Thank you for your kindness and patience.
