“We are to look to “the Church” to discover the truth…but which one? “

A hint: It won’t be one that molests your children then seeks to cover it up.

It will be one that ALWAYS leads back to the gospel of your salvation. That ALWAYS focuses on the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST. That ALWAYS makes it clear that it is by grace through faith that we are saved. And that is a free gift of God. It will be one where God's Word of Truth is the ONLY final authority. It probably won't be the most beautiful building on the outside, but that's because the members KNOW that WE are the temple of God, not a building. WE are the Church the Body of Christ, not a religious institution who teaches that salvation is only through their institution. It won't be rich. Because it doesn't extort money from its members through works or false promises. It doesn't extort. It EXHORTS its members to preach the gospel of salvation. And to reprove, rebuke and exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. It knows its commission is found in 2 Cor. 5:14-21. The reconciliation of God and man.

It knows its power comes from the Word of God, not the opinions of men.

It wasn’t a cover-up. They just shuttled the guilty men of the cloth to other parishes, paid off the families that were hurt and neglected to inform the authorities.

OK, when I say it like that it sounds like a cover-up.

It is not written in the catechism. So what are you talking about? It is people who turn evil that do it in any organization.

A hint: It won’t be one that molests your children then seeks to cover it up.

Hint ... the "church" did not cover up the abuse; individual clergy did.

Reminder ... The Church is Christ's bride (Ephesians 5:29) and has "no spot, wrinkle or blemish" (Ephesians 5:27). Christ also stated that the gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church (Matthew 16:18) so how can the Church commit error? Individual clergy may commit sins, even popes commit sins because in the Church there are both "weeds and wheat" (Matthew 13:30).

Reality check ... Non-Catholic Clergy Abuse & Crimes
