Bishop Ochoa will lead a population of over 2 million—around half of which are Catholic—including 166 priests and over 150 religious. He noted that his new diocese is under the jurisdiction of Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles, former archbishop of San Antonio.

Bishop Steinbock died December 5th, 2010, so its been about a year’s wait to hear who our new bishop would be.

Bishop Ochoa exiled Father Michael Rodriguez from El Paso for outspokenness against homo marriage.

Will Fr. Rodriguez be restored now that Ochoa has been transferred to the land of fruits and nuts or will El Pasans be saddled with another homo-sympathizer?
