From the article: Mitt Romney has realized that he can't avoid the issue of his Mormon religion, so he might as well embrace it. The Republican frontrunner's new South Carolina mail campaign emphasizes Romney's deep religious beliefs...

Wait a minute. Per the revised "John 3:16" of too many FREEPERS, I thought Romney's Mormonism was supposed to be hermetically sealed from his candidacy.

Why isn't now thus so segregated from his political campaign?

(Waiting for answers)

Oh.

I get it.

It's "OK" for "religion" to be "used" for political purposes" IF it's a positive "faith-promoting" sanitized version...
...but...if it's a negative critique, then all boundaries are to be maintained.

Is that it?

Otherwise...IF the FREEPERS who have outlined their expressions on NUMEROUS OTHER FR THREADS that the Mormon religion is to be "kept out" of candidate considerations...
...IF they would be consistent...
...THEN they should appear in droves on this thread and proceed to lecture Romney to keep his religion out of these political machinations...
...Right?

...Well...
...if...
...they were at all consistent, that is...
...you know...consistent...
...you know, continuity in expressing their convictions...
...you know...intellectual integrity...
...and all that...

(Don't anybody hold their breath)

Mormons have always stressed their “wholesomeness” and “family values” in their proselytizing in order to fool Americans.

They also do all they can to evade discussions of their twisted theology and checkered history.

Romney is pro-family, helps on own his planet (but really who is anti-family)
Romney is pro-marriage, yea he supports the homosexual agenda.

You can mention Mutt's Mormonism as long as you do not talk about:

  1. Mormon heresies such as salvation earned by works

  2. The blasphemies such as the claim that God had physical intercourse with his daughter Mary in order to beget Jesus

  3. The racism such as sacred scripture and doctrine concerning the inferiority of Blacks and Lamanites (i.e. American Indians)

  4. The silly stuff in the Book of Mormon like pre-Columbian Indians herding goats and sheep, growing wheat and barley, wearing linen garments, living in cement houses, wielding steel swords, migrating in submarine barges, watching snakes herding cattle, and so much more

  5. The really silly stuff like magic underwear to protect against the boogieman and special hand grips to tell angels from demons

  6. The solemn oaths of blind obedience -- in every subject and no matter what he says -- to the Mormon Prophet

  7. The sexual perversions of the founder and early leaders of Mormonism ... actions that are still commanded in sacred scripture of all Saints throughout time and all eternity

  8. The crimes committed by the Mormons ranging from murder, to castration, to beatings, to slavery, to sedition, to arson, to theft, to counterfeiting, to bank fraud, to perjury.

  9. The dozens of unfulfilled prophesies by Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other authorities

  10. Mark Hofmann

Other than that, you're good to go.

The whole argument is moot. Romney is as Mormon as Pelosi is Catholic. He takes his religion as seriously as he takes his conservatism, hence of all that is wrong with him, Mormonism is my least concern. I would much prefer if he was a Book of Mormon thumping religious fanatic than the Demoncrat in drag he actually is.

With Reid and Romney representing the “values” of Mormons
perhaps LDS ought consider other ambassadors.

Mormonism is akin to Islam in that they both base their lore around a totally human “prophet” who has great standing as a channel to God. Of course, that’s just my Christian bias....

So Milt touts his religious convictions, then tells lies regarding his ‘pro-life’ goddiness. MormonISM is from the father of lies, so we should not flinch when a prominent LDS inc adherent lies about his ‘great faithfulness’. Milt is a disgusting human being. Except for his haughty facial revealing countenance, he lies as well as barry soetoro!

Just my opinion but I think the left’s strategy is to get Romney to be the nominee. They think the religious right will not support Romney giving Obama an easy victory, the left also intend the smear the religious right as haters while portraying themselves as tolerant of other faiths....

If it looks like Obama is losing and they have to attack Mitt’s faith, the left will try to make it look like its coming from the right.
