You need not perform any good work - nothing!

That is horrible advice and equally horrible theology.

As a Jew I find that deplorable. It’s the total opposite of what HaShem wants of us.

Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Romans 4:2: For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

You just called God a liar ... considering that God said that we are saved and justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

The reference I made regarding 'you need not perform any good work [for salvation] is completely Biblical. Try reading God's Word before you accuse a believer-saint of falsely advising horrible theology. God is not a liar. Man is a liar.

You are either a Catholic or just short on Bible doctrine. (redundant statement) Bibletruth is dead on. You have been reading James, John, Jude etc. But they preached the Kingdom to Jews of that day. Paul was sent to the Church or The Bride of Christ. Jew vs. Gentiles, Law vs. grace, Kingdom vs. Church. You have to know who the apostles were talking to. Even Christ himself preached the Law up to his death , yet we know that we are not under the law today. Something happened and you can find the answer in the Book of Acts.

DNC.2012, I notice you don't point to any scripture for your assertions, and you can't because there are none. Your attempt to legalistically focus on each word instead of the obvious intent say a lot.

Anyone who knows anything about the Bible knows that bibletruth was saying that no one has to "perform any good work" to be saved - we can't be perfect and we can never be good enough, so Christ came, out of love for us, to save the world from that condition. Once we accept Christ, we are to do many things - not to earn, deserve or keep our salvation, but because we are saved.

Too bad you missed the whole point and had to be so devisive - unless, of course, you are not on our side, in which case, it's too bad you don't know Christ.
