Good question. I just heard the Archbishop of Kansasa City say that he has asked HHS Sec. Sebelius to refrain from taking communion.

Her ordinary (bishop) has the right to do this. He will have contacted her and talked to her. This determination is made based on her condition as assessed by him. This is not made as a punishment but as a lesson and an inducement to come back into communion with the Church. In ancient style, she should have our prayers but also we should keep our distance and not imitate her in any way. She is in trouble right now. Big trouble.
