Isn’t Connolly, also like Moran, from Boston? I’d never heard of him, then he was the Providence Supervisor, then Chmn of the Board of Supv, then Congressman. He never held any office for very long before looking for a promotion. Before going on the Board of Supervisors, I don’t remember any record of his civic involvement. Just another ambitious lawyer/pol.
I lived in the 11th (even before it was the 11th) for 23 years and watched it go from nicely red to pitifully blue. Alas, we’re now in the 8th which is just hopeless.
If you mean originally from Boston, I don’t know, but it’s a good bet. Heck, most of the Irish in politics have roots in Boston, New York, or Chicago. We used to be in the 10th (Wolf-red), definitely unaccustomed to challenges from the left. But the government-spread has reached us, might as well be Alexandria. It looks like Fimian may run against Connolly again. Perhaps this time, the GOP’ll take it seriously.
