Barry should have enrolled in that free course about the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College that Rush has been talking about. Maybe he’d understand how our government is supposed to work.

“While he said that his personal faith is very important to him, he added that a “problem” is created “when we start using religion as a bludgeon in politics, when we start questioning other people’s faith, when we start using religion to divide instead of bring the country together.”

Yes, Hussein, this is what you do.

Barry is "perplexed" only because he refuses to speak with or listen to the U.S. Catholic Bishops and their clear reasoning. They are telling him ... No Compromise.

"He responded by saying that his “first real job out of college was working with churches in low-income communities, trying to make sure that the social Gospel was made real.”

What does any of that have to do with religion?

He responded by saying that his “first real job out of college was working with churches in low-income communities, trying to make sure that the social Gospel was made real.”

He only makes war on biblical Christianity. Islam, and any New Age or 'Christian' group which can further the Marxist cause he embraces. So what's the problem? You can worship in any manner you choose. As long as it's HIS choice.

“I find this very puzzling,” Obama said

A lot of important things seem to "puzzle" our intellectually-challenged president, but I understand this one. I think that to him, because he is not hostile toward Islam or the secular religion of the Left (i.e., the "social Gospel"), to say he is hostile to religion is in fact "puzzling" to him.

I don't know if that would count as a "real job".

He feigns lack of understanding....

unless he truly thinks the so-called social gospel has anything to do with Christianity. In which case, it's clearly obvious why he wouldn't “get it”.

This marxist mooselimb punk isn’t “waging a war on religion,” .
He’s just waging a war against Christians and Jews.

Which, BTW, is very much what one would expect to hear from someone with Barry 0's liberal protestant background.

Trampling all over Roman Catholic scruples. Eh. "Clinging to their Bible and their guns." crack. Eh. No matter.

"puzzled" adjective = perplexed, beaten, confused, baffled, lost, stuck, stumped, doubtful, at sea, bewildered, mixed up, at a loss, mystified, clueless, nonplussed, flummoxed, in a fog, without a clue ■ Example: Scientists remain puzzled by the question, whether Barack Obama is human, some sort of reptile hatched from an egg or a space alien..

"trying to make sure that the social Gospel was made real.”"

What the hell does that mean?

That's the kind of gobbledy-gook you don't want to hear from a sitting president

What does “social Gospel” mean? Is that a perversion of Gospel in the same manner “social justice” is a perversion of justice?

So he was an honest to gosh church worker, eh? Like Wright’s church?

“I think that the proper role here is to recognize that faith-based groups can do a lot of good out there, that that informs our values and who we are as a people.”

Mindless drivel. He used an entire lungful of air to say nothing at all.

“when we start using religion as a bludgeon in politics, when we start questioning other people’s faith, when we start using religion to divide instead of bring the country together.”

“in this world, we’re always trying to deal with the compromises, the accommodations that are required in a big, messy democracy."

"However, a nice streamlined Sharia state? NOW we're talking!"

Hint: The real Gospel was written by followers of Jesus Christ, not by a man who calls religion "the opiate of the masses". Those of us who follow God believe in a social mission from God, but it's not Obama's mission from Karl Marx.
