1. It makes the GOP look so sane, normal and centrist.

3. It gave us ZELL MILLER. I will never forget his support of George W. Bush. A lifetime dyed-in-the-wool Dixie Democrat went to the GOP convention, stood up and spoke for Bush.
Man, that took some guts. Backbone of tempered steel.
