Washington DC will be renamed Joseph Smith City and there will be a new check-off on your income tax to cover the costs of proxy sealing.
...the presidential campaign of Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith in 1844: Challenging Democrat James Polk and Whig Henry Clay, Smith prophesied that if the U.S. Congress did not accede to his demands that they shall be broken up as a government and God shall damn them.
Smith viewed capturing the presidency as part of the mission of the church.
Mitt Romney thinks that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of GOD.

I think that the whole Mormon shebang is as queer as a three dollar bill.

I had the same thought. Issues like that are the reason I firmly believe God, and noone else should and will make the decision of who is together for eternity. No one else knows enough of anyone’s life to know.

If you don’t have examples of how Mormon politicians did something wrong because of their religion, then you don’t have much of a point - at least about the politicians.

But; OTOH...
I'm a MORMON ...

1. There is NO marriage in Heaven. (Matthew 22:29-30)
2. Marriage vows (no matter what MORMONism teaches) are annulled at death. (Reply #32 already explained that)

(Harry) Reid (who was raised
agnostic) and his wife (who was born to
Jewish immigrant parents and grew up in Henderson), converted to
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon or LDS Church) while he was a college student.
In a 2001 interview he said, "I think it is much easier to be a good member of the Church and a Democrat than a good member of the Church and a Republican." He went on to say that the Democrats' emphasis on helping others, as opposed to what he considers Republican dogma to the contrary, is the reason he's a Democrat.
He delivered a speech at
Brigham Young University to about 20,000 students on October 9, 2007, in which he expressed his opinion that Democratic values mirror Mormon values

That’s interesting but awfully weak. I think you need to open your eyes to their policies more than to their religions.

"Yup; that WAS his point; along with "Do NOT be posting this stuff showing how REPULSIVE MormonISM is!" OK. So given the first part, why single out Mormonism?

I think you need to open your eyes to their policies more than to their religions.Oh; I know about Mitt's politics; most people do.
I am merely supplying data that perhaps shows WHY Romeny has the political values that he has.
