That is a nonsensical convoluted statement. God has no mother. Jesus stated that his mother and brothers were all the people that believed on him.
God chose his elect at the foundation of the world; no one can take even one of them away. Christ’s shed blood is sufficient for all, and effective for only the elect.

If the response of Mormon Romney apologists is attack Mary, then the GOP may want to rethink its strategy this November which is highly dependent upon Catholics voting Republican in the same proportion that they did for Dubya.

Mary was ‘special’ only in her correct lineage fulfilling prophecy. Mary was not sinless; she was very human, and had at least seven children, as witnessed by God’s word. (Catholic ‘tradition’ be returned to the pit of hell from which it arose)
So if I understand you correctly, you see nothing special in the fact Mary bore a son in common with God?

Try me. I was raised evangelical, and once held the same viewpoint you express toward Catholic/Orthodox theology of Mary. That being said, if you need time to pray and reflect upon the question, we can postpone the discussion.

The Mary worshipers never have any knowledge of the Bible; if they did, they wouldn’t be Mary worshipers.

I’ve never met a Mary worshiper. Only Christians who honor her because of the special role she played in salvation history as the mother of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. a title firmly established in Luke 1: 41-43, where Elizabeth addresses Mary as “mother of my Lord”.
That being said, I will repeat the question in simpler terms: Is the fact Mary bore a son in common with God special?

Stretching the meaning of Elizabeth’s words is disobedience to God.
Mary bore a son by the will of God, not “in common with him.” Your statement is gastly blasphemy at best. Jesus knew that this blasphemy would arise, so he handled it:

¶ And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed [is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
Luk 11:28
But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it. <<
You can accept his words, or you can reject them. He made many similar comments whenever anyone attempted to lift up Mary. I’ll accept the words of my Lord and savior.

You seem troubled by the idea Mary bore a son in common with God, which is the plain meaning of the Angel Gabriel’s words to Mary in Luke 1:31.
If she did not bear this son in common with God, who then was the father? And from whom did Christ receive His divinity?
And if God did not bear this son in common with Mary, who then was the mother? And from whom did Christ receive His humanity?
I suppose one could take the Darwinist approach and claim Jesus was merely an accident of evolution. However, the idea that man can evolve into God is a position more in keeping with Mormonism than classical Christianity.
