After the judgment of the Supreme Court, it is now definitely established that the raids on 24 June 2010 which were made on the Archbishop's Palace, and on Cardinal Danneels obtained material illegally says Fernand Keuleneer, lawyer for the Archdiocese and Cardinal, commenting on the judgment.

I’m sorry, but with the terrible record...all over the world, of Rome’s curia covering up the crimes of a few (yes only a few), I have no compassion for bishops offices being searched—or other measures, any other organization would be subject to, if it had sexual predators on the payroll.

This isn't about compassion, is it?
I think it's about "Where's there's smoke..." and anger.

Jesus gave us an Apostolic template with JUDAS, the betrayer. We all KNOW that there are bad men/women of the cloth but I don't think that should mean that law is thrown out the window.

We all know that breaking the law because we are ticked off and have no compassion is reprehensible. The Belgians know this too.

Catholic priests are held to a much, much higher standard than any other (wo)men of the cloth. The Catholic Church is the oldest Christian entity and was called CATHOLIC as early as the 80's A.D., according, at least, to the letter of St. Ignatius of Antioch in his letter to the Christians at Symrna on his way from Antioch to Rome to be martyred.

His letter said that "where Jesus is there also is the Catholic Church." That was the first time in written history that the term "Catholic Church" had been used.
Ignatius was bishop of Antioch from 70-108 A.D. and the fact that he didn't "explain" what the "Catholic Church" meant seemed to signify that the term "Catholic Church" had been in general use since the 80's A.D.

I THINK , because the Catholic Church was Jesus' Church, the FIRST in the planet's human history, is why the Catholic Church is so often targeted with bias. But, that's just my opinion.
