We do not wear Crosses because to do so would be to celebrate the murder weapon that killed Jesus.

That's a logical reason but it is a bit like liberals and gun control.

Guns don't kill of themselves. They are a convenient tool for people who kill, who have to use blades and bludgeoning tools and poison and fire without the convenience of guns.

A wooden cross didn't leap up and kill Christ or fall over on him. Romans killed Christ as demanded by the hateful populace. I don't blame the inanimate cross for what the Romans and the people caused any more than I blame the inanimate gun for what a criminal does.

There were lots of ways the Romans could have killed Christ without a cross. If he was eaten by a lion, would you then hate lions?

In fact if you want to point to the true murder weapon, it would be the blade the Roman centurion used to puncture Christ's side, spilling his blood and water. The priests requested that Christ be killed so as not to die on the Sabbath Day, and so the Romans fulfilled their request by stabbing him with a blade.

So feel free to wear a cross, since a sword was used to finish off our Savior, the Son of God.

My post is somewhat facetious in that I can show that anything is prohibited or anything is allowable, if I just dig hard enough or rationalize long enough, or find the right conflicting reading of the Scripture. And I fully know that my post holds nothing for you but comedy and you won't listen to it or feel it holds any truth.

Other than that, Happy Easter to you, though you don't celebrate it. HE IS RISEN!

I swear, Christians are our own worst enemy.

God and Christ and the Holy Ghost must shed an ocean of tears over the constant hostility between the Christian religions. What a waste of time and effort.

Worship as you believe and leave others to do the same in Christ’s name.

If I were God and had to put up with all this Christian on Christian bashing, I would be calling on a new Noah circa 2013 and start over again.

Now hear it comes.

“Yes, and the New Noah should be fundamentalist Christian.”
“No, Catholic!”
“No, Mormon!”
“No, East Orthodox!”
“No, Jews for Jesus!”

Really, this constant Christian on Christian bashing is getting old already. Christ is crying.

1Co 1:17* For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 1:18* For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Ga 5:11* And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Ga 6:12* As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

Ga 6:14* But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Eph 2:16* And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Php 2:8* And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Php 3:18* (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

Col 1:20* And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Col 2:14* Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Heb 12:2* Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Apostle Paul celebrated the cross - mormons show us that they aren’t Christian by their rejection of the cross.

We celebrate Easter every week as we participate in the sacrament of the Lord’s supper.

Many Christian churches have weekly communion....they do not feel the need to label it as "celebrating Easter". Easter in truly Christian churches is celebrated as probably the most important day ever...Jesus rose from the dead. Comparing it to the mormon sacrament of stale bread and water is ridiculous.

Mega FAIL!

I had a Mormon co-worker who complained about Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” saying it was too bloody for her. I reminded her that the crucifixion was in reality quite gory. She responsed with something along the lines of “But they should never show that”. As I learned more about the teachings of Mormonism, her reaction seemed very true to her religion.

I wonder how Mormons explain:

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Hebrews 9:22

To gain validity, non-christian cults MUST degrade core elements of Christianity for its membership. In the same way, mormons have substituted water for wine/juice in their "communion".

Well; you AIN'T 'god' and you cannot seem to tell the difference between MORMONs bashing Christianity, and Christianity exposing MORMONism.

Easy! Christ's blood is NOT sufficient for some sins.

Only the SINNER's blood is, and needs to be shed!!!

Take it to the summit ~

To gain validity, non-Catholic Christians MUST degrade core
elements of Christianity, actually the pinnacle of the faith, for its membership. In the same way, non-Catholic Christians have substituted wine and sometimes juice in their “communion.”

Accepting wine or juice when they can have Christ Himself
because non-Catholic Christians cannot confect the Eucharist.

The Great Warning is going to change all this, our non-Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ (not all) will rush forward to receive the Holy Eucharist.

Hmmm...Why aren't you worshiping then as you believe and failing to leaving others in this thread to do the same in Christ's name?

Is it because you can't tolerate what some people have said on this & other threads? Is it then you preach one thing -- "leave others to worship as they believe"; yet practice another...you actually can't stand people to religiously express what they believe -- and you had to pipe in on this thread to preach away at them...to "change their ways" so that they would stop expressing what they believe?

Do you realize that when you preach one thing & directly practice another you refute yourself?

If tolerance is one of your supposed highest religious values then please start tolerating whatever religiously you've disagreed with on this thread -- and others.

Great proposal for the “tolerant” ones! They are really not so tolerant as they are politically correct.

It's the time of Christ during his public ministry about 2,000 years ago.

A distance ancestor of Freedom_Is_Not_Free is overhearing religious discussions 'tween followers of Jesus and the Pharisees...and elects to interject:

I swear, Jews are our own worst enemy. God must shed an ocean of tears over the constant hostility between the Jewish religions. What a waste of time and effort. Worship as you believe and leave others to do the same in God's name. If I were God and had to put up with all this Jew on Jew bashing, I would be calling on a new Noah circa 2013 and start over again.

Now hear it comes.

“Yes, and the New Noah should be a zealot.”
“No, Pharisees!”
“No, Sadducees!”
“No, circumsized Gentile converts!”
“No, Jews for the Messiah!”

Really, this constant Jew on Jew bashing is getting old already. And ya know what...

...since Jesus called the Pharisees children of the devil (John 8) and whitewashed tombstones and were making proselytes twice the sons of hell (Matthew 23), per the tolerance cult of Freedom_Is_Not_Free, Christ is actually the worst offender!

Especially since Christ not only "went after" the Pharisees, but the Saducees as well:

For Jesus even "tore down" the Sadducees on this occasion: Jesus replied, “You are IN ERROR because you DO NOT KNOW THE SCRIPTURES OR THE POWER OF GOD. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you... (Matthew 22:29-31)

The Flying Inmans, therefore, accord the April award of "Trying to OutNice Jesus" to Freedom_Is_Not_Free! *****

What we see from the above is that Freedom_Is_Not_Free is really in his post bashing others for bashing. (More self-refutation). What is worse, He winds up indirectly bashing Jesus for Jesus' bashing of the Pharisees & Sadducees. Btw, here's more of Jesus "bashing" the Pharisees:

* But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Jesus, Matthew 15:9)
* ...guard against the yeast...against the TEACHING of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Jesus, Matthew 16:12)
* ... you have taken away the key to knowledge. (Jesus, Luke 11:52)
* The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. (Jesus, John 8:47...in fact, Jesus went on in this chapter to reference them as children of the devil!)

And:

* He [Jesus] replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ 8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” 9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!... 13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” (Jesus, Mark 10: 6-9, 13)

You see, Freedom_Is_Not_Free has made the VERY poor religious assumption that essentially there are NO Christian counterfeits. Sorry, FINF...Jesus -- as you can see above -- made no such assumption.

(I hope you don't work in retail since you seemingly -- if you applied your same lack of discernment there -- wouldn't be too concerned about counterfeit bills in circulation)

When it comes to the doctrine of the Eucharist and transubstantiation, how does Roman Catholicism explain Hebrews 10:10-14?

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2010:10-14&version=ESVUK

“10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ[a] had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”

...unlike yourself that believe that Christ ditched his ressurected body...'

I believe what the early church fathers taught...that Christ is forever an integrated God-man. Sorry...nothing to "ditch" there...

...join the heavenly mist with a three-way personality disorder...

Tell us Teppe: Since some Lds leaders have indicated that spirits "progress" to getting a body...why do humans have a body & the Mormon Holy Ghost doesn't?

Did He stop progressing or something?

Here’s the same verses from the English translation of
St. Jerome’s Latin Vulgate, the first Bible, found in the
Douay-Rheims Bible. http://www.drbo.org/

[10] In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.

[11] And every priest indeed standeth daily ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. [12] But this man offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God, [13] From henceforth expecting, until his enemies be made his footstool. [14] For by one oblation he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Reformation, hi,

You know me, prophecy helps. Our Lord has been saying the same for 2000 years, God speaks to every generation through the prophets, I am speaking about the Eucharist specifically.

Jesus wants you to believe in His presence in the
Eucharist. It is a perfect sign of faith, believing the
consecrated host become God Himself when you do not see a
change. Right? And isn’t God pleased with faith. The
Eucharist isn’t made up by Catholics, it is a supernatural
gift, God coming to you, to everyone who believes. You can become Roman Catholic friend. Nothing on this earth can
compare to the “grace” of receiving God Himself in you.
That’s the Trinity’s plan.

On Romans 10: 10-14. Jesus suffering sacrificial death on the cross was one time, yes. No argument. But God wants us to remember Our Lord’s sacrifice, to take part in Calvary, to be there. And you are at the Mass. Our Lord is offered to the Father in an “unbloody” manner. This
“continual sacrifice” is offered every hour around the world
and fulfills the Old Testament words of Malachi 1:11.

For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts.

The “clean oblation” is the Eucharistic Sacrifice. I went
on, I’ll share in another post, Jesus speaking of the
Eucharist through a prophet on Holy Thursday, April 5, 2012.
He doesn’t give up, He wants you to believe.

love,

stpio

A message to Father Melvin Doucette

April 5, 2012 (Holy Thursday)

The Last Supper ...refer to 1 Cor 11:23-26

Come and contemplate the Last Supper, My dear brother Melvin and all My dear brothers and sisters who believe in Me and receive the Holy Eucharist at least every Sunday. I instituted the Eucharist just before My Passion. I knew I had to leave you shortly so by the institution of the Eucharist, I was able to stay among you in a special way. Believe, My dear friends, that I am truly present in the hosts and in the chalice. I am present there alive as I live now at the right hand of My Heavenly Father. Although you cannot see Me with your eyes, you are to believe in My real presence. I wanted to stay with you in a special way and so I am in the Holy Eucharist and I come into your heart every time you come to receive Me. I am closer to you now than any other human being, because I live in your very being. I am part of you. Come to receive Me with a pure heart, which means that you have repented of all your sins. I am very pleased too with the adoration going on in many parishes today. Those who come to adore Me in the Holy Eucharist are blessed indeed. I love you all.”
