Romney is just a politician. He might not have a moral objection to individual mandates, but would he ram it down America's throat against 70% opposition? No.
He might be skeered of guns, but would he shoot himself in the foot by trying to reinstitute the assault weapon ban? I doubt it. And I doubt he'd turn on the biggest base in the republican party, ie the Christians especially evangelicals.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Romney fan and I'll have to hold my nose to vote for him assuming he gets nominated. I'd love to vote for a true, moral, real conservative, but in the end I'd prefer just about anybody to the marxist in chief. Romney sucks, but Obama sucks a hell of a lot more.
We don't know that yet...They are both shooting for the same destination...They are just taking different roads to get us there...
We and the country are screwed either way...
