New Comic Book Series Called Faith Features the Life of Jesus Christ
by Dan Wooding, Faith Issues/ASSIST News
Many who went to Sunday school may remember comic books about the life of Jesus as a great and entertaining way to understand the life of the Lord and Savior. Now Bluewater Productions, an independent comic book publisher, is launching Faith, a new series featuring the biographies of various biblical and religious figures.
A new version of the comic book is now available to the NOOK and Kindle. It will also be out on the IPAD as well.
According to a news release, the inaugural issue, which features Jesus Christ, became available in April just before the Easter holiday. Future issues will feature such iconic heroes as King David and highlight various religious leaders throughout history.
The book highlights different aspects of the life of Christ to show that Jesus of Nazareth was more than just a great man in history, but proof of a providential force at work in the universe, said issue author Don Smith.
According to Bluewater President Darren G. Davis, the idea to do religion-themed biographies came while promoting Female Force, a comic book biography series telling the stories of influential female leaders.
We were showing people who never or rarely picked up comics that the books could be an effective and educational primer into the lives of people who are shaping our social, cultural and political landscape, Davis said. It occurred to me that there is one biography whose influence has shaped millions and millions of people; and now He has a Bluewater biography!
The upcoming issue, written by Smith, features the art of Ryan Johnson and a special cover by well-regarded Christian artist Mike S. Miller.
This book is for and about those who inspire faith. Whether they draw their inspiration from Jesus, Moses, Buddha or those that followed their teachings, I want Faith to be seen as a tool that spreads the best messages of religion: love, tolerance, harmony and respect. I want it to be a learning tool as much as a fascinating read with excellent artwork, Davis added.
In addition to the Faith line of comics, Davis also announced the soon-to-be-released reprinted packaging of several vintage, inspirationally-themed comics from the 1940s and 50s. Treasure Chest of Fun and Fact was a popular comic series distributed to parochial schools for nearly thirty years. Bluewater will be creating several graphic novel-length issues from this treasure chest of the past.
Beware the true and living hero of my soul, greater than any superhero for He has created and destroyed all through His very WORD. Who can stand before Him and not die? Only by His grace and mercy can we live, only by His love can we breath.
Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Choose to fight and you will be no more, your choice.
This will be one interesting "comic" book.

Very cool. I’ll have to share this with my Christian Comic creators friends.
