Washington D.C., Apr 11, 2012 / 04:10 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- As Rick Santorum ends his bid for president, political analysts are suggesting that his campaign may significantly effect the national discussion of morality.
Dr. David Campbell, a political scientist at the University of Notre Dame, told CNA on April 11 that the “intriguing link” that Santorum drew between morality and economics has the potential to “change our national discussion.”
On April 10, Santorum announced that he was suspending his campaign, shortly after he took time off to be with his youngest daughter, Bella, who was hospitalized for the second time in recent months.
After thanking his followers for their support and prayers, Santorum concluded his campaign by reiterating his often-repeated argument that in order to have a strong economy, America needs “strong families and a strong moral fiber.”
The announcement drew statements of gratitude from those who believe that the former Pennsylvania senator’s contributions to the presidential race will be ongoing.
Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, said that voters were attracted to Santorum “because he passionately articulated the connection between America's financial greatness and its moral and cultural wholeness.”
In an April 10 statement, Perkins said that Santorum has energized Americans who realize that solutions for the nation’s problems must begin with “an understanding that the economy and the family are indivisible.”
“With great vision and passion, Rick Santorum reached the hearts of pro-life voters and allowed them to show the strength of their voting bloc,” added Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List.

Gingrich is also going to end up endorsing Romney... he has said as much. The republican party is dead to me.

How hard is it to understand that Judeo-Christian morality yielded a 4% illegitimate birth rate in the 1960’s, and the new ‘liberated’ women provide a 41% illegitimate birth rate? 53% among women under 30.
How hard is it to understand that the now 70+ Federal organizations which fund these dysfunctional households spend $750 Billion annually and the states spend another $250 Billion? That the young mothers who bear these ‘love’ children have been robbed of any opportunity to become productive members of society? Or that we obviously cannot continue to support 50% of the population resulting from this new morality?
Hardly intriguing or novel.
I suspect all will endorse Romney in one way or another. Its the way things have been done for decades. Pawlenty endorsed Bachmann for her house race a few weeks back.
Personally I would be happiest if we could get away from the endorsement game among politicians altogether.
An unethical immoral population will get the same from their representative government and I’m not just talking about liberals.
Nobody can be perfect but it sure makes a difference when enough people try.
That's simply ridiculous and does not track with worldwide reality. These folks are trying to make something out of nothing to further their won agenda.

I’ve thought all along this is why Santorum was tagged as “non-electable.” It’s been the elephant in the room. No one wanted to say it but the fact that he talked about morals and faith made him unacceptable to the political experts.
Just for the “heck” of it. I wonder what would happen if despite the Santorum decision to suspend his campaign the folks in Pennsylvainia om April 24th decided to vote for Santorum and his delegates and carried the state ?....
I don't think there's anything keeping anyone from doing that as long as he's on the ballot
But Santorum can preach for the next four years about family and morality but it will mean nothing as long as the Feds let the thieving banksters bankrupt all the families in the USA. It's hard to keep the family together when you are flat broke, and harder yet when forcing the dad out of the house gets you bigger welfare checks.
We'd have a better shot at morality in the civic sphere if a bunch of crooked banksters were in jail right now.

I believe the justice you crave will only come with a renewal of faith and morals... faith and morals are primary.

So, around aprroximately 100 A.D., were thoe Germanic tribes wealthier than the Roman Empire? Eskimos must be really wealthy...The Soviet Union, too. In fact, since distance from the equator and IQ are the only things that affect nations' wealth, that whole change to Communism had no impact on the wealth of Russians.
...and average IQ.
Asians have higher average IQ's than whites. Who had a more advance civilization the past few centuries?
