Parents Speak Out and Keep “God” in “God Bless the USA” Song

Today, fourth graders at Stall Brook Elementary School were permitted to perform “God Bless the USA” at their public school assembly, because people in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and around the country stood for common sense and the children’s First Amendment rights.
Originally, teachers replaced the phrase “God Bless the USA” with “We Love the USA,” in the song written by Lee Greenwood. After parents strongly voiced their disapproval, the school pulled the song from the itinerary altogether, but that did not sit well with the parents in Bellingham. People from around the country joined together to preserve our nation’s heritage, which this song embraces, and the school administrators put the song back into the agenda.
District Superintendent Edward L. Fleury said, “Students will be allowed to sing or not sing ‘God Bless the USA.’ … No other words will be substituted.”
“This event should embolden people around the country to stand against religious intolerance, whether it is in the classroom or the workplace,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.
“Intimidated by the American Civil Liberties Union or Freedom From Religion Foundation, the public square is becoming a haven for religious bigotry,” Staver said. “As a nation, we are long overdue in demanding that our fundamental liberties be fully honored and protected,” he continued. “These parents refused to be pushed around, and their children’s religious rights were protected.”

“We Love the U.S.A.” changes the whole meaning of the song. “We Love the U.S.A. makes it sound like it’s about a BIG Government nanny state. That was not what Lee Greenwood meant for his awesome song to be about.
These Godless Socialists have been usurping our rights for decades - on the premise that ONE person is or might be ‘offended.”
Well, hello! WE need to get ‘offended’ at their being offended. And then OUR rights count too.
I once said to a person who told me - at work - that they were offended that we were planning a Christmas party. She didn't believe in god - and therefore, we should not celebrate Christmas.
I said; “Your face offends me. What shall we do about that?”
She never answered me - and there were no more objections to our party.

I mean, do you really, REALLY, **REALLY** wanna take your rights back?
GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF THE “PUBLIC SCHOOLS”!!
The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program in the country.
The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is better understood as the “government school collective”.
It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is communist.
Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.
If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.
Nobody loves your children more than you do.
Nobody can teach your children like you can.
Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.
It is hypocritical for you to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. And your children will know it.
If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.
DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!
Especially not with your own children.
And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!
He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that goes DOUBLE for any government “education” program.
Push back......a liberal tyrant’s worst nightmare.
We see this bluster quite a bit here on Free Republic, yet, the big yellow government school buses are filled to brim with kids from **conservative** families. UNBELIEVABLE!
There are whole counties and even entire states where the entire government socialist-entitlement schools system would collapse over night if conservatives, and believing Christians, and Jews would do just **one** thing! REMOVE THIER KIDS!
When true tyranny comes to the U.S., the oligarchy will not use cattle cars. They will instead use big yellow school buses and the sheeple will compliantly board them because that is what the socialist-entitlement schools trained them to do.
If you personally really really really give a twit about your “rights” then remove your kids from the government schools immediately. If they don't attend then swear an oath before God that they never will attend.
When we got through, home schooling was legal - and now the state is one of the top states for home schooling. (I also won First Place award from Maine Press Assoc. for my column about those days.)
I yanked my daughter out of public school - 32 years ago - after her first 2 months.
