How do these 'nuns' differ from any other group of leftist women? Abortion, lesbianism, gay rights and social justice appear to be much more important to them than any Catholic teachings.

Make them follow the program or let them hit the road.

They should be excommunicated publicly and loudly. Nuns for Choice and these other radical disgusting feminazi groups are a disgrace to the Catholic Church. Why don’t they just leave the Church and go start somewhere else . . . but leave the Church. They’re a Cancer.

The notion of radical feminist nuns is repulsive, and I’m not even Catholic!

Why should they be stunned?

If they want to be a Catholic organization within the auspices of that church, then they should accept its doctrines. Otherwise they should stop pretending to be Catholics or stop pretending to be a part of the church.

Pretty simple?

I would say the same about any organization that pretends to be part of any church. Accept the doctrines or stop pretending to be part of it.

Many nuns belong to communities that own thier own property. The do not depend on the local bishop for economic support. The bishop cannot kick them out of their convents. The left wing radical nuns won’t leave because they live comfortable lives and have three hots and a cot. I doubt if they are Catholic or if they consider themselves to be Catholic. I think public excommunication would be a good idea. Let them call themselves Episcoplalians or Veternarians or whatever.

I humbly suggest Benedictine sister Joan Chittister needs her knuckles rapped by a metal three cornered ruler and made to write “Obedience to law is liberty” 5,000 times on the nearest blackboard.

These lefty nuns came out barking when I was a kid promoting abortion, teen sex, divorce, etc. I headed for the hills.

Chittister called the CDF’s proposals an attempt “to control people for one thing and one thing only – and that is for thinking, for being willing to discuss the issues of the age.”
“If we stop thinking, if we stop demanding the divine right to think, and to see that as a Catholic gift, then we are betraying the church no matter what the powers of the church see as an inconvenient truth in their own times.”

No, Sister, the CDF's proposals do not attempt to stop you and your liberal sisters from thinking, or even talking amongst yourselves. The CDF just wants you to stop talking outside your communities about the 'changes' you want to make. Your incessant chatter about how you want to make the Church better simply confuses Catholics, especially those who have been poorly catechized, which includes all those who were taught by the likes of YOU, and your liberal sisters.

Individual members, however, have been prompt in condemning the Vatican’s interest. Sister Simone Campbell, executive director of NETWORK, a lobbying group of U.S. Catholic nuns cited as problematic in the CDF’s report, told the Washington Post, “It’s painfully obvious that the leadership of the church is not used to having educated women form thoughtful opinions and engage in dialogue.”

If that is what you think, baby, hit the bricks and start your own church.

Cardinal Levada was archbishop of San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties for several years. The leftist, church-hating fools who tried to give any static to the Church during his time were dealt with in a manner that would make the Good Lord proud.
I was not at all surprised when the Vatican took him away to Rome. He OOZED brains, talent, compassion, backbone and love of his Lord.

LOL, a Benedictine nun said this? About the Catholic Church? LOL! Listen, Sister, if you want your divine right to think, just make sure you're thinking about supporting Catholic Doctrine. Because as a Catholic, your divine right to think stops right there - period. That's WHY you're a Catholic, remember?

Amazing, but they are just the tip of a very large iceberg. Let's see discipline come down on all the Catholic institutes of higher learning that teach liberalism. Let's see politicians who push for abortion, homosexuality and a host of other sins disciplined. But this is a start. Glad to see the Catholic Church show some teeth when it comes to disciplining where there is known and public sin. I am not Catholic, but am glad when sin is genuinely censored.

In an interview with LifeSiteNews.com in 2010, Chittister had said that while she is personally “against” abortion, “I would never condemn a woman who finds herself in the position where she believes that, or her doctor believes that, abortion is the only answer for her at that moment.” She also criticized the Catholic Church as being based “on a patriarchal system” and described her admitted divergence from Catholic teaching as a “position of query, of theological and scriptural commitment and search.”

LifeSiteNews featured Chittister's image in their reporting vs AP which showed an image of Mother Teresa's sisters.

“Because the leadership of LCWR has the custom of meeting annually with the staff of CDF in Rome and because the conference follows canonically-approved statutes, we were taken by surprise,” the LCWR said in a statement.

Horse Hockey. The 'conference', on paper, might follow the statutes, but in practice, the individual nuns went off the rails long ago.
