Where is the Inquisition when its needed?
This was in the eighties. I remember opening a book in the bookstore titled ex-nuns. Well it showed them in the traditional head wear. Then when no longer nuns a picture of two with no tops but shorts next to a flowing river in the book also. I told my Devout Catholic mother she was very sad. She prayed for them.
At least these nuns got out of the church. Others stay when they do not agree with the basics. Just renegades on purpose? hmmmmm.....
This article I just did a quick scan and since I am just up, reminds me of the recent events that honored MLB Fenway Park’s 100th birthday. I watched the opening pre-game tribute to that baseball stadium, showing former Red Sox players wearing the jersey as former Red Sox players. The LESSON from all of this, I can use in regards to my faith, RESPECT tradition and traditional practices. That includes honoring the “uniform” of religious orders.
Sweet irony, I saw what looked like a repeat from Father Benedict last night, showing him interviewing two nuns in traditional habits from one of the newer orders. God Bless them all.
