St. Jerome said that ignorance of the Bible is ignorance of Christ. How true. Having had 16 years of Catholic school education, I thought I knew my Catholic faith. It was not until 6 years ago when our parish began offering The Great Adventure Bible Study program which was developed by Jeff Cavins that I came to realize how much I did not know about my faith.

For the past 6 years a group of us has been taking Great Adventure courses. That has been expanding so that this year we have six separate sessions of various Great Adventure courses. I have had the privilege of being a class facilitator the last three years.

In addition, several members of our group have attended the National Catholic Bible Conference for the two years it was held in Centennial, CO. Plus, every January we attend the West Coast Bible Conference held in Riverside, CA at which Drs. Scott Hahn, Brant Pitre and Michael Barber are the main speakers.

Some of us were fortunate to go on one of Dr. Tim Gray’s Holy Land pilgrimages. After one of Dr. Gray’s teaching pilgrimages, I can guarantee that your life will never be the same.

The New Evangelism is alive and well in America being led by these great Bible scholars along with the many additional Catholic evangelists they are helping to create, parish by parish,
