You'll get justices with so little meaningful record to investigate that your greatest source of information about them will be their testimony before Congress. And that is always terribly stilted.
It’s definitely a legitimate concern. However, *now* Romney has said in debates that he will appoint Alito, Scalia, Roberts, Thomas types.
With a tea party Senate, we can hold him to that.
