However, medics at Nottingham City Hospital refused to operate while she was expecting and told her to terminate her pregnancy to save herself. But Miss Jackson, a devout Catholic from Aspley, Nottingham, refused and gave birth to a healthy baby daughter.

Unless there is something that is not in the article this is absolutely non ethical on the part of the doctors that refused to operate unless the pregnancy was terminated.

It would not be a difficult procedure to operate on her while she was pregnant to remove the cancer. By not doing this the lady was and is at a greater risk of developing a fatal cancer in the future.

I hope something is missing from this story. Otherwise the National Health name should be changed to "triage de la muerte"

I assume there’s a lot missing from the article. Otherwise, we might be confused as to how the devoutly Catholic young lady - and she’s quite a cutie, too! - has two children with no mention of their father(s).
