While some Christians insist that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not Christian enough, one Christian professor says “Mormonism is obsessed with Christ.”

Perhaps you have been too busy trying to find ways to denigrate and demonize Mormonism to take the time to REALLLY broaden your horizons and take a gander at the "Religion of Pieces," ISLAM?

If you think that there is a shortage of threads on the evils of Islam, go ahead and start some. I'm confident that if some Muslim would have written an article as outrageously stupid as the article in The Deseret News, someone would have posted it.

Well, I did think of it on my own, but apparently it googles rather well too. I am not the first to go there.

But this does lead to a new set of connect-the-dots for me. Mormon polytheism really is a system of Gnostic emanations, isn’t it? Complete with the hidden knowledge angle. And if Gnosticism, or some variant thereof, then it is the direct object of the Apostles John’s repudiation as a manifestation of the antichrist spirit gone out into the world.

Only in John’s day the Gnostics had rejected materiality as an inherent evil, but these modern Gnostics seem to have that reversed. Which of course they would have had to do to slip around the obvious Biblical condemnation to old school Gnosticism. But such an evasion would only work on those who don’t see the rest of the polytheistic camel coming in under the tent.

It is a shame someone cannot find a copy of the Solomon Spaulding novel which Rigdon help Joe rewrite as The BoM. Not view to but the longer one he wrote after that failed to gain popularity. His family claimed he sent it off to a publisher but died before anything came of it. It might have been pretty good what with Solomon’s background as a real minister. And what a pity that a sociopath named Joseph Smith, conman, sexual predator of married women, and all around lying scuzzball continues to dupe so many people and usher so many souls to Hell. We can only pray that God’s mercy will somehow cover the poor souls deceived by that cult.

And we did go forth again in the wilderness, following the same direction, keeping in the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which were in the borders near the ^aRed Sea.

15 And it came to pass that we did travel for the space of many days, ^aslaying food by the way, with our bows and our arrows and our stones and our slings.

33 And it came to pass that we did again take our journey, traveling nearly the same course as in the beginning; and after we had traveled for the space of many days we did pitch our tents again, that we might tarry for the space of a time.

34 And it came to pass that ^aIshmael died, and was buried in the place which was called ^bNahom.

39 And it came to pass that the Lord was with us, yea, even the voice of the Lord came and did speak many words unto them, and did ^achasten them exceedingly; and after they were chastened by the voice of the Lord they did turn away their anger, and did repent of their sins, insomuch that the Lord did bless us again with food, that we did not perish.

There are a lot of people with different beliefs around. My objections to Mormonism would be lessened if they did not try to say they were Christians. If they posited themselves as a separate religion, it would be better imho

I am not sure what "imho" means.

Did you understand my reference to H.G. Wells and Robert Heinlein? That refers to science fiction that is so ridiculously silly that it is "Silly" and even Absurd on the surface that it is rendered laughable to most of us.
