The Vatican is simply applying the law of non contradiction. One cannot say, as these women seem to believe, two contrary/contradictory propositions are both true.

Sister Campbell is now organizing a nine-city bus tour to support the nuns’ side in this debate.

Good luck with that, Sister. At what point in your consecrated life did you forget that the Church is not a democracy?

“What irks the bishops is that ordinary people look to Catholic sisters for their moral perspectives and find us credible teachers. We understand the complexity of life. When you can live in the Vatican without engaging in real people in pastoral settings it’s way easier to be black and white.”

BS....I attended an RCIA meeting at our local Church 20 years ago and during the Q%A I asked the sister who was presenting the lecture "what is the precise definition of the Eucharist?". All I got was a deer in the headlights look.

**The United States is in the midst of a major investigation by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) into the group that represents 80% of the country’s 57,000 nuns.**

This is a good thing. The same thing happened several years ago with the seminaries — there were no vocations for the priesthood. The seminaries got cleaned out and now they are packed with young men who want to become priests.

In a few years, after all this is over, the good convents will be packed with young girls wanting to dedicate their lives to prayer and service.

God bless Pope Benedict!

Nuns were more entertaining back in the late 60s, early 70s when they could fly.

You guys check out the comments over at the link?

Good to know FR is not alone in having non-Catholics overwhelm any decent discussion of solely Catholic issues.
